The Association of Music Therapists of Serbia (AMTS) was founded on June 27, 2001 in Belgrade on the initiative of Dr. Ranka Radulović and her closest friends and associates.
The association was founded as an independent, non-governmental, non-profit association of citizens in order to develop music therapy as an independent profession in Serbia, which is funded by membership fees, donations and its own activities in accordance with the law.
A program of education in music therapy, which was created on the basis of clinically proven methods, whose author is Dr. Ranka Radulović, was presented in 2001, and it started to be applied in 2002, when the first generation of future music therapists was enrolled.
In 2004, the Yugoslav Association for Music Therapy was admitted under the auspices of the European Music Therapy Confederation, and in 2006 it changed its name to the Association of Music Therapists of Serbia (AMTS).
At the time of founding the Association of Music Therapists of Serbia, there were no trained music therapists in the country.
The fight for the legitimacy of music therapy in the country through the fight for the legitimacy and credibility of the Association of Music Therapists of Serbia is our way to the development of music therapy.
Member of the European Music Therapy Confederation since 2004.
